Privacy Policy

ResumeCrafter ("we," "us," or "our") provides a tool for building and downloading resumes. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using ResumeCrafter, you agree to the practices described here.
1. What we collect
We collect two categories of information:
- Resume content you enter. Your name, contact details, education, work history, skills, and summary, which you type into the builder.
- Usage data. Standard analytics events (such as page views and button clicks) collected through Google Analytics, and payment confirmation data from Stripe when you make a purchase.
2. Where your resume data is stored
The information you enter into the resume builder is saved in your browser's local storage. It is not transmitted to or stored on our servers while you are building your resume. This means:
- Your draft persists if you close the tab or refresh the page, on the same browser and device.
- It does not sync across devices or browsers.
- Clearing your browser data, using private/incognito mode, or switching browsers will remove your saved draft.
- We cannot recover a lost draft, since we do not hold a copy of it.
When you generate a PDF, that file is created directly in your browser and downloaded to your device. We do not receive or retain a copy of your finished resume.
3. Payment information
If you choose to remove the watermark, your payment is processed by Stripe, a third-party payment processor. We do not collect or store your card details — Stripe handles that directly on its own secure checkout page. We receive confirmation that a payment succeeded, which we use to unlock the clean PDF download on your device. See Stripe's own privacy policy for details on how it handles payment data.
4. Analytics
We use Google Analytics to understand how visitors use the site, such as which pages are viewed and which buttons are clicked. This helps us identify and fix points where people get stuck. Google Analytics may use cookies to do this — see our Cookies Policy for details.
5. How we use information
We use the limited data we do receive (analytics events and payment confirmations) to:
- Operate and maintain the resume builder
- Understand which parts of the product are working or causing drop-off
- Confirm and fulfill watermark-removal purchases
- Diagnose technical issues
We do not sell your information. We do not have access to the resume content you type into the builder, since it never leaves your browser unless you choose to download or print it.
6. Your choices
- You can clear your saved draft at any time by clearing your browser's local storage for this site.
- You can use the site without making a payment; the watermark-removal purchase is entirely optional.
- You can use most browser privacy settings (private browsing, cookie blocking, ad blockers) without losing access to the core builder, though analytics may be affected.
7. Children's privacy
ResumeCrafter is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.
8. Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as the product changes. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do. Continued use of the site after changes means you accept the updated policy.
9. Contact us
If you have questions about this policy or how your information is handled, contact us at privacy@resumecraft.app.
